former illinois congressman jesse jackson, jr., and his wife. just moments ago, jackson entered a plea of guilty for misusing campaign funds for personal use. our bruce johnson joins us live. >> reporter: jc, we're here even though he's an illinois congressman, the name jesse jackson, the jesse jackson family is quite known in this country, almost royalty in the civil rights movement and in democratic circles. jesse jackson, jr., 47 years old, the disgraced resigned congressman from illinois was here in u.s. district court as you say a short time ago. he arrived with his attorney, entered a guilty plea inside federal court to wire and mail fraud and false statements charges. actually one charge, all of that was wrapped into a conspiracy charge. he's looking at more than five years in prison, a fine of $250,000. now, legal experts don't expect him to get that much. they do expect him to do some prison time. you know he was treated for a bipolar disorder. we don't know how that will come into play. the reverend jesse jackson was here along with his wife, jackie, and four of their other sibl

bowl park at jackson square, new orleans. we want to get right to some breaking news from turkey. >> that's where a suicide bomber set off an explosion outside of the u.s. embassy this morning. mark, good morning. >> good morning, charlie and norah. the news is recent and somewhat contradictory as to what has happened place. there has been an explosion, it appears, at the side entrance of the u.s. embassy in turkey. there are two reports of deaths involved. one says a suicide bomber. another says two have died at this. one agent in turkey say these were turkey security employees. this appears to be a side security gate to tell bacy. the staff in the embassy, we're told, are in a lockdown now, not responding to phone calls at this stage. the embassy in turkey, by the way, with a lot of u.s. embassies under the threat in the islamic world, this embassy does not come under one of those to be a prime security threat. the explosion appears to have been sizeable enough to damage the security gate at the side of the embassy but no damage from the initial picture, anyway, to the embassy

william parkway. it's shut down basically between lake jackson drive and dumfries road. so go ahead and choose your alternate route before you head out the door and plan early. i would suggest making using bristow road as your alternate route if you're trying to get northbound this morning toward the manassas area. 66 is not affected by this but i do believe it's a pretty serious accident so it could be there for a while longer. let's take a live look on the northbound side of i-395. looking good here at the 14th street bridge. there had been an accident northbound in the third street tunnel approaching route 50 so that may slow things down a bit more than normal. no issues to report here on 270. just slowing down a bit as you travel toward hyattstown and germantown. a live look at the beltway north of town at university boulevard which is looking good on the beltway. but as traffic continues to pick up this morning, many of you in virginia will decide to take a 495 express lanes. last hour we told you why many drivers, especially during the rush hour, making the b line for the lanes. b

people were hurt but so far no deaths have been reported. russ adams of our jackson affiliate wjtv is in hattiesburg. >> reporter: i'm standing in front of the alumni house at universe of mississippi that suffered major damage. just to give you an idea, here's a picture of what it looked like before the tornado blew through. the monster tornado whipped up large chunk of debris as it reportedly ripped through at least four mississippi counties sunday. >> oh, my god. i've never seen a tornado before in my life. >> reporter: witnesses say it destroys people's lives. it roared down the main street of hattiesburg, knocking out power and damaging just about everything in its path. buildings ripped to shreds, cars overturned, and even the local red cross center destroyed. >> oh, wow. that's coming threw toward us, guys. >> reporter: as the tornado blew, it cut a path of devastation across the university of southern mississippi. downed trees littered the damage. several buildings suffered damage including this unoccupied dorm that was slated for renovation. >> it was coming pretty fast. my
